When I analyze my trajectory, I see an invisible hand directing my path. A man shared God at revival, convicting me of my sin, showing me a different way. I surrendered in a moment as a child and that moment has shown up again as an adult, finding me in a Godly place.
That common thread is Union, and though I didn’t know at the time, this man had also walked her halls, sat in the same chairs, and came to know God more deeply in her pews, years and years before.
He came to know God at this small-town university and then brought God to me in a small town in Kentucky, when I was a child. It was only recently when this Godly man died, that his story and journey became known to me as a man.
He began at Union University in Tennessee which I as an adult now coincidentally (or maybe not by chance) call my home.
I only found out his beginnings today, a teacher as well at Union, while reading his obituary. What by wonderful chance God showed me His hand of mercy as His chosen. He has a purpose for each and every one of us, the unexpected connections displayed this truth.
I lead others now, praying for their open hearts to be among the chosen. We are a family connected together with invisible lines called His love, for a purpose. I’ve come full circle, from a boy to a man following in the footsteps of a Godly man and I thank you God for leading us to this place, and for your eternal grace.
