The Confident Lamb

Today has been an upsetting day. My life is out of balance, and I feel like a slave in Egypt pushing a stone uphill. How can this be? That stone keeps getting bigger. I can’t even focus on the meaningful and eternal parts of my life, like God or family. Why does this happen to me, this enslavement by culture, by society, by “perfection expectations”? Exodus 8:1 ….”Let my people go, so they may worship me.”

We need to be freed from societal and material desires, as well as pride and selfish-driven goals to lift self up. We want to be seen as being “perfect” or having a “perfect life” on facebook or instagram. This is not a competition Christian brothers and sisters. How can we change our focus to Him, the lamb who loves us and sacrificed His life for us? How can we have “God-confidence” to know how greatly loved we are? As a friend recently told me, “God wants our hearts.” God can give us power “to change the world!”

So, my challenge to you today is to change our world by changing the way we think, live, and love. We can have a ripple effect in the world. Spread love and kindness. Make God our number one habit. Turn from the cellular or electronic habits that separate us from relationships. Pray at every meal, at bedtime, for another day, for forgiveness. Go to church routinely, and be involved. God is so good, and loves you so greatly. Have God-confidence and get off that pyramid! Don’t be a slave to the world.

Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
