Dear Treasured Teens (and Treasured Pre-teens),
I love the original Wizard of Oz movie. In the beginning, Dorothy is unhappy, and wants to find fame or fortune; her friends are seeking happiness, too. Then, they find the Great Oz and he helps them to realize that what they wanted or needed, was always within their grasp. It makes me think of Heaven. Dorothy realized there was no place like home, and her friends realized (thanks to the Great Wizard) that what they really needed or wanted was attainable through belief. There is no place like Heaven, and we need to believe to receive His Holy Spirit and power.
From Matthew 13 , we learn:
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
The Kingdom of God is our greatest treasure. Yes, friend, there is no place like home. And, the greatest and most powerful relationship that we can have is with Jesus. He can be within us as the Holy Spirit when we believe and accept John 3:16. You’ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself. – Glinda the Good Witch.
